Course Overview
Practical Life Exercises (PLE) are the foundation of the Montessori Method. They help children develop independence, concentration, coordination, order, confidence, responsibility, and respect for themselves, others, and the environment. Through meaningful, hands-on activities based on real-life experiences, children gain the essential life skills needed for everyday living.
At KPI Nepal, trainee teachers learn the philosophy, objectives, and presentation techniques of Montessori Practical Life activities. The course emphasizes precision, sequence, grace, courtesy, and child-centred learning, preparing teachers to guide children toward independence and holistic development.
Course Objectives -Upon successful completion of this course, trainees will be able to:
Understand the purpose and philosophy of Montessori Practical Life.
Present Practical Life materials accurately using Montessori techniques.
Develop children's fine and gross motor coordination.
Foster concentration, independence, self-discipline, and responsibility.
Teach self-care, care for others, and care for the environment.
Promote grace, courtesy, and positive social behavior.
Prepare and maintain a well-organized Montessori classroom.
Module 1: Motor Skill Development.
These activities strengthen fine motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and control of movement.
