Kathmandu Professional Institute (KPI Nepal) is more than an educational institution—it is a socially committed organization dedicated to advancing education, strengthening communities, and creating sustainable social impact across Nepal. Guided by the belief that quality education is the cornerstone of national development, KPI Nepal extends its mission beyond academic excellence to improve educational opportunities for children and underserved communities throughout the country.
At the heart of this vision is Anand Devkota, a distinguished educator, social worker, and the Chief Executive Officer of Kathmandu Professional Institute (KPI Nepal) and Kathmandu Montessori Training Center (KMTC). Through his leadership and unwavering commitment to educational equity, numerous initiatives have been undertaken to ensure that every child has access to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
Driven by a shared commitment to educational transformation, Anand Devkota, in collaboration with internationally renowned Australian educator Gavin McCormack, has led a dedicated team of educators, volunteers, and community partners in implementing meaningful educational development projects throughout Nepal. Together, they have successfully constructed new schools, rebuilt educational infrastructure, established modern libraries, and donated essential teaching and learning resources in more than twelve locations nationwide, positively impacting thousands of children and their communities.
The journey of KPI Nepal’s social initiatives began at Uttam Bal Bikash Kendra, located in Bardaghat–13, Nawalparasi West. As student enrolment increased, the need for expanded educational facilities became evident. Responding to this need, Anand Devkota, Gavin McCormack, and the KPI Nepal team supported the reconstruction of Jayanti Primary School, under which Uttam Bal Bikash Kendra operates. The project also included the establishment of a spacious library, significantly enhancing students’ access to books and quality learning resources.
Building upon this success, KPI Nepal completed the construction of a new school building at Buddha Mangal Bal Bikash Kendra. The institution was further equipped with Montessori teaching materials, classroom furniture, educational resources, and a Smart TV to promote innovative, child-centred learning.
KPI Nepal subsequently expanded its support to Danphe Primary School in Kavrepalanchok, where a new school building was constructed and comprehensive Montessori teaching materials, educational equipment, and classroom resources were provided to enrich the learning experience.
Recognizing that literacy is fundamental to lifelong learning, KPI Nepal established a modern library in Bidur-7 Municipality, Nuwakot. Additionally, teaching and learning materials were distributed to another government school within Nuwakot District, contributing to improved educational quality and classroom engagement.
In Kalanki, Kathmandu, KPI Nepal further strengthened educational infrastructure by establishing a well-equipped library at Shree Vidhya Mandir School, creating an environment that fosters reading, research, creativity, and academic excellence.
Continuing its commitment to educational development, KPI Nepal extended its support to Hima Awadhiya Bidhyalaya in Jumla in 2025. The project included the rebuilding and renovation of school facilities, the provision of desks and benches, classroom carpeting, Montessori teaching materials, educational resources, and the establishment of a fully equipped library, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and inspiring learning environment for students.
These initiatives represent only a portion of KPI Nepal’s long-term commitment to social responsibility. Every school constructed, every classroom improved, every library established, and every educational resource donated reflects the organization’s unwavering belief that every child, regardless of geographical location or socioeconomic background, deserves access to quality education.
Under the leadership of Anand Devkota, KPI Nepal remains committed to collaborating with schools, local communities, government agencies, national and international partners, and volunteers to expand educational opportunities across Nepal. The organization’s mission extends beyond providing education—it seeks to empower communities, nurture future leaders, and contribute to the nation’s sustainable development through education.
For KPI Nepal, social responsibility is not a single initiative but a lifelong commitment. Guided by the vision of Anand Devkota and supported by dedicated partners and volunteers, the organization will continue to build schools, rebuild educational infrastructure, establish libraries, provide essential learning resources, and create meaningful opportunities for children across Nepal.
Together, we are building a stronger, more educated, and more compassionate Nepal—one child, one school, and one community at a time.
